Words have meanings

Our politicians are claiming that they are not socialists or communists but you decide...

so·cial·ism  [soh-shuh-liz-uhm]
–noun

1.a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
2.procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3.(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

com·mu·nism  [kom-yuh-niz-uhm]
–noun
1.a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.
 
Those sound a lot more like what is happening in our country than these:

4.(initial capital letter) any of the five periods of republican government in France.Compare First Republic, Second Republic, Third Republic, Fourth Republic, Fifth Republic.
5.(initial capital letter, italics) a philosophical dialogue (4th century b.c.) by Plato dealing with the composition and structure of the ideal state.

Don't let others twist your reality. Educate yourself. Do not let those that are trying to undermine and overthrow our nation define the terms of the debate! A socialist is a socialist not a 'moderate'. A communist is a communist not 'progressive'. If we concede the terms we set ourselves at a disadvantage. Do not give an inch; we are in a war of words, elections and legislation that as a nation we cannot afford to lose. We must retake our country while there is still something to take back!
